International PRS competition
Today was a rough start. started my morning on the zero range with flyers all over the target and varying ammo speeds. using a full box with no consistency in sight.
pulled the rifle apart including scope and rings checking torque throughout.
rifle back in order and still no joy.
pulled out the cleaning rods and went to town (maybe a bit too much) with the barrel cleaning agents and scrubbed like crazy.
loaded a few mags and started the fouling process and within 30 shots we have 10 round groups where nearly all shots are touching.
Don’t understand what was causing the massive discrepancies but all looks good now and I'm not going to question it.
a quick re-zero and we get signed in and ready to go.
Shooting started really well with a first stage clear, and the rest of the day going well too some really weird switchy tail winds and some odd wind that was non existent at the shooting line but was definitely out there (even if you cant feel the wind its always there).
the guys put in two stages today that were definitely a change up to what we are used to, usually they are all 10 round stage with 105 seconds to complete but today 2 stages were entered with 12 round count with a mag change and the same amount of time.
first one encountered I managed to get 10 shots off with 10 hits and timed out for the last two shots. and the second stage like this managed to clear it.
In total I lost out on a possible 9 points for the day 7 misses which consisted of 4 bad trigger pulls 3 lost to wind and 2 I timed out on.
Some changes to be made to the rifle for the season finale including some extra weight on the rifle plus some new glass that I am very excited to try out.
